Foreign trade with ecologically destructive nations

The 21st century results high time for every nation to understand that the actions of one nation against the planet Earth and its ecosystems affect all humans and, in general, all living organisms on Earth. National policies which ignore or deny such simple fact result backward and patently antisocial —basically anti-human.

Accordingly, nowadays state-organizations must craft and implement national policies which protect Earth and all its ecosystems; thereby creating a sustainable balance between, and coexistence of, human civilizations and natural ecosystems.

The loss of any species because of human activities results unacceptable for any sustainable civilization. Humans cannot truly consider themselves «an advanced species» if they cannot maintain their own home planet.

The stateian plague-civilization

Nonetheless, the stateian empire continues to enact antisocial policies, with the last step consisting in the removal of basic regulatory foundations for controlling and reducing the emission of polluting and greenhouse gases. The move also constitutes an attempt to create artificial competitive advantages for stateian businesses since, compared with sustainable practices, results cheaper to—

Such artificial competitive advantages result relevant for any nation which enacts (commercial) trading activities with the stateian empire. For any forward-going nation, the larger the commercial trade with the plague, the more relevant the artificial advantages of the latter.

Compensatory measures against ecologically antisocial nations

Accordingly, results pertinent and appropriate to establish compensatory tariffs and differentiated taxes for commercial interactions with subjects which operate within any ecologically antisocial nation. The amount of each tariff and differentiated tax must correspond to the damage done during the production of the specific items and services exchanged in each transaction, plus a country-base amount to compensate for collateral environmental damage.

Given the aforementioned proportions, the tariffs must suffice, at least, for developing and implementing technological solutions to—

Thus, these ecological measures will suffice for approximately counteracting the proportion of damage done —this a simplification, as if the damage could get compartmentalized— by activities involved in the foreign trade of the antisocial nation. The description of how to fully reverse, or compensate for, such ecologically antisocial behaviour stands beyond the scope of this record.

Final remarks

Collaborating and trading with ecologically antisocial nations, without placing limits and costs for those, will only cause damage to everyone —both commercially and ecologically— while feeding and growing the monster. Furthermore, trading with those nations and doing nothing about their antisocial activities amounts to complicity.

The peoples of forward-going nations must command their respective state-organizations to enact the ecological and commercial policies necessary for the success of humankind on Earth in the 21st century and beyond.
