Those who want to live as vassals; part two

In this second part of the record I describe the main traits of the culture of the mexican «conservatives» who want to live as vassals. The culture of those «conservatives» consist of a subset of a more general mexican culture, where the «conservatives» differentiate by an increased amount of mostly-closeted racism and a fixation with «superior classes» of humans. Therefore, results necessary to explain also the general mexican culture in order to convey sufficient information about the various cultural components which support the behaviour of those persons.

Accordingly, I start with the racism, then address the rest.

Mexican racism

Mexican «conservatives» espouse and practice a type of publicly-denied racism, where the «superior race» consists of any individual deemed as «white» or from «european race» —whatever that supposed race consists of—, and the «inferior races» consist of any deemed «american indigenous» or «black». This racism inherited from colonial times; thus, the colonial racism remains alive two centuries after the formal independence of Mexico. Notice that «spanish of moorish or arabic descent» does not qualify as a «superior race» in the mexican racism.

Typically, one needs to become a confidant for any «conservative» to explicitly and verbally express its racism. Examples of expressions I personally heard include:

However, the racism of mexican «conservatives» results self-abasing and self-degrading since—

  1. Most of them carry at least a small degree of indigenous or black lineage, visible in their own physical constitution.
  2. Basically none of them holds records of its own pedigree through centuries, which would guarantee the «purity» of its lineage.

This self-degradation gets compounded by the colonial tradition of assigning the highest-ranking societal (colonial) posts only to individuals born in Spain. Hence, any individual born in Mexico resulted regarded as automatically inferior or less-worthy. Hence, when looking for «the best», the «conservative» brutes look outside the people to which they regard themselves as constituents.

A fixation with «superior classes» of humans

Accordingly, the mexican «conservatives» experience a fixation with «superior classes» of humans. And, by means of this fixation, they neglect and ignore the fate of the rest of the people. The fixation with «superior classes» gets conspicuously expressed when they evaluate the outcome of the spanish colonial regime, as they say, paraphrasing: «When Alexander Humboldt visited Mexico City, he called it the city of palaces, hence the colonial regime resulted not so evil, look at how much prosperity it created»; obviously, only the colonial elite enjoyed those palaces. Likewise, they say: «the colonial regime created the first university, such advancement brought to the mexican society» where only a small elite could go, and its chief goal consisted in preparing specialists in mining and construction of infrastructure for the exploitation and export of precious metals into the imperial core. Anyway, as already conveyed in another record, the spread of knowledge or any sort of «advancement» does not require imperialism or subjugation as prerequisite.

In modern times, the fixation with «superior classes» gets expressed by the evaluation they make about the prosperity of the country, now mixed with the capitalistic doctrine, as they say, also paraphrasing: «look at how much those industries augmented their production, such a large income they obtained, therefore the country experiences prosperity and neoliberal capitalism improved the country so much»; where, of course, the main beneficiaries consist of the capitalistic elite, while the labourers obtain wages of subsistence or less —there the need of two adult partners to work outside the home concurrently in order to sustain a single household.

At a middle-ground between the colonial regime and modern capitalism, the «conservatives» praise the railroads built during the dictatorship of Porfirio Diaz, where the construction of the railroads gets regarded as a proof of «prosperity», while disregarding the misery and subjugation of most people. The practice of praising human facilities over the land can also get associated to the primitive and patriarchal mentality according to which «man must dominate nature».

Furthermore, stemming from the racism and fixation with «superior classes» of humans by «conservatives», any culture created by a «superior race or people» results inherently «superior» to any culture created locally.

Authoritarianism

All major cultural subsets in Mexico comprise significant quantities of authoritarianism. Nonetheless, the degree of authoritarianism of ordinary mexicans does not qualify as consummate fascism, such as the fascism displayed by, as benchmark, the mainstream russian society and the current stateian «republicans».

In the case of the mexican «conservatives», their racism and fixation with «superior classes» of humans shapes the expression of their authoritarianism. Therefore, depending on the historical stage, for them results reasonable to—

  1. Live as vassals of a foreign king, and arrange the local society in a scheme of «castes» —a precursor to modern apartheid.
  2. Bring into the country a foreign aristocrat as emperor.
  3. Always look for foreign «investors» whenever wanting to «develop» their country. And, likewise, obey all policies dictated by transnational capitalistic institutions such as the so-called International Monetary Fund, by the stateian empire, or by the capitalistic plutocratic «financial system».
  4. Obey stateian laws and policies while living in Mexico, and demand that mexicans accused of transgression of those by the stateian empire get delivered to the imperial core.

Always as vassals, never as commanders-in-chief. As, per their convictions, there will exist always some foreigner «stronger, better, with the proper resources, with higher morality, or otherwise more qualified» than themselves and any other mexican. Contrast with more straightforward forms of authoritarianism, where a member of the same group, or of the same perceived race, can become the supreme authoritarian commander.

A number of intellectual traits serve as scaffold for the cultural elements already described. Those supporting traits shared by most mexicans, not exclusive or differentiating of the «conservatives», and seemingly also widespread within other societies. Hence, two important generic traits of mexicans described next.

An entrenched desire to obtain quick and easy results

Most mexicans behave with an entrenched desire to obtain quick and easy results for whatever goal they set upon. In many cases, such behaviour arises from intellectual shortcomings of the type described in chapter 3 of the book «Asynchronous Exchange: The End of Capitalism». Nonetheless, in many other cases, such behaviour arises from plain avoidance of the effort, complexity, and refinement required for attaining high goals and standards —from mediocre and lazy persons.

Hence, depending on the social strata, the desire to obtain quick and easy results gets reflected on the choices made by people; most remarkably in the cases where the human commands substantial amounts of material resources for attaining its goal. Accordingly, any typical mexican with a surplus of income implements projects which produce profits in very short terms; the instances abound in Mexico: «developers of housing complexes»; individuals who prefer to establish franchises for selling fuel or automobiles; others who embark on simple, relatively-large productive endeavours; persons specialized in obtaining state contracts and concessions utilizing friendships and corrupt schemes; and so forth.

Accordingly, the mexican political and business elite (in terms of monetary income and accumulation of assets) strongly prefers to invite foreign capitalistic industrial corporations for those latter to exploit mexican labourers by low wages; while the local elite satisfies with obtaining secondary businesses which depend on the industrial enterprise, for example—

This mental shortsightedness already produced a disaster of country. As, for the mexican culture, results normal and acceptable to live in permanent disorder, partial lawlessness, and inadequate or incomplete development in all aspects of life. In many cases, one precarious or erroneous solution serves as the «fix» for another, previous precarious or erroneous solution. Two examples suffice for illustrating the point:

Whether because of intellectual shortcomings or the plain rejection of high goals and standards, most mexicans either do not care about or do not recognize the disaster of their country. Thus, most mexicans do not find any problem with the «solutions» of the two cases just mentioned.

In some extreme cases of unsoundness, the mexican disorder and disaster gets psychologically internalized and serves as an element of pride of the «mexican identity».

An incapacity to exercise organized violence when appropriate

Mexicans, as a semi-organized human group, display a pathetic incapacity to exercise organized violence either as means of direct self-defence, or as means of stopping any abuse against themselves. This incapacity I already introduced in another record.

In this aspect, the mexican «conservatives» differ slightly in style from the supposedly «nationalistic» ones:

Final remarks

The «success» (the real-world disaster stemming from their ideas) of the mexican «conservatives» results directly proportional to the incompetence of the «nationalists» and the passivity of all other mexicans. Passive mexicans constitute the majority of the population, by a wide margin.

Many years ago, I used to regard perhaps half of passive mexicans as either simpletons or sufferers of some sort of disorder; from observing those persons, derived part of the content of chapter 3 of the book previously mentioned. However, the other half of passive mexicans, fully mentally capable, consist of free-riders who expect everyone else to solve the problems of their street, neighbourhood, city, region, country, and the world in general. Free-riders —more formally, social parasites— may show up to voting stations at electoral times every few years, but will not do much more or will do nothing else at all. When others fail to solve the problems, free-riders will just adapt to the chaos and decay, or will immigrate to some other more-profitable country —whether legally or illegally.

The number of free-riders can decrease by establishing participative methods of self-governance which comprise clear and tangible benefits for those persons who participate, and reasonable costs for those persons who do not participate. Participative methods must result, of course, nimble —neither bureaucratic nor unnecessarily time-consuming. For the said purpose, the electronic data machines widely available at the 21st century can serve a lot.

The incompetence of the mexican «nationalists» produced very-long term consequences when, in the year 1988, after a glaring electoral fraud, the «nationalists» failed to go to a civil war on time, and instead lowered their heads upon the traitors which implemented «neoliberal» capitalism in Mexico during the next decades. The mexican political and business elite must get completely replaced in order to build a functional country; but, competent mexicans who could replace that failed elite, after the aforementioned historical inflection for the worse, started to pursue other paths.

Therefrom, to all persons in other countries who find groups of wannabe vassals within their nation, learn the mexican lesson: Do not hold any mercy or leniency for racist cultures and traitors to democracy, develop your concept of nation to the fullest extent, and systematically move your nation towards the highest goals and standards you can craft for yourselves. Would result convenient that you read chapter 7 of the same previously mentioned book, in order to ensure that my words do not get misinterpreted.
